Why you should enter more business awards

Why-Industry-awards-are-important-1

"Something that is conferred or bestowed especially on the basis of merit or need."

That's the Oxford dictionary definition of the word "award." And for such a brief description, it packs a lot of punch - especially with the "merit" part. After all, we all love merit-based recognition, especially at work.

The last couple of months have proven to be a bountiful for the Fifth Ring trophy cabinet as we welcome nine new additions to the collection from four awarding bodies. In this blog we take a look at some of our recent award wins.

A run through our Award Wins.

1) The BBN Golden Bees

The BBN network is a fairly sizeable organisation. With more than 40 office locations across 27 countries, it's a community of marketing agencies - one that celebrates the work we do as marketers across the globe.

It's no surprise that the Golden Bees have several different categories of awards that celebrate the work we do across the network. Following the BBN academy in Milan our Account Director, Debbie Ho, brought home the first award of the month as she was recognised as the 2018 BBN Rising Star.

Working from our Singapore office, Debbie has been a vital team member in increasing our presence and portfolio of clients in Singapore.

2) The Drum Independent Agency Census

The Drum Marketing Awards are sponsored by the Drum Network - a community that works to support marketing agencies with networking opportunities and other resources.

The annual independent agency census ranks the top performing agencies in the UK and we are delighted to be recognised amongst our peers as one of the top performing agencies in the country.

3) International MarCom Awards

A globally recognised awards body the MarCom Awards make for one of the largest of its kind - with about 6000 entries submitted each year from 34 different countries.

The awards are divided into four main categories - print, strategic communications, digital media and video - each with is own sub-categories, leading to a total of 321 different options.

From the various categories available we scooped five awards – three Platinum and two Gold standard trophies. We were praised for our client work on the Bureau Veritas website, the launch of the Apergy brand at OTC and the production of the 60 Years of Energy Education brochure for the Oklahoma Price College of Business.

Alongside or client wins we also celebrated two Platinum award wins for our own marketing efforts as our Inbound Edition of Five magazine and our Houston 10th anniversary campaign were both commended. Something we are particularly pleased with having our work celebrated by industry experts and our peers.

4) Lantern Awards

Created thirty years ago with the sole purpose of celebrating top-quality-creative and strategic B2B communications.

The Lantern awards are now recognised as Texas' premiere awards ceremony and we're pleased to have picked up another two awards for our social media work with National Tube Supply and our Houston 10th anniversary campaign

Now, It's Time to Apply Yourself.

Many industries have their own awards and we are often asked by our clients to help with their own submissions.

Remarkable work deserves recognition and you shouldn't be scared to enter the race.
